Founded in 2019 by winemaker Kelsey Albro Itämeri, itä wines is a woman-owned and operated winery in Walla Walla, Washington. Kelsey’s focus from day one has been expressing the terroir of the high-elevation eastern foothills of the Walla Walla Valley. She uses a low-intervention, restrained approach that honors the moderation and finesse of these Blue Mountain hillside grapes — focusing on varietals and styles uniquely suited to this distinctive place she calls home.
Since that first vintage, itä has earned recognition that includes a 2023 “Winery to Watch” from Wine & Spirits, and a spot on Wine Enthusiast’s “Future 40.” Kelsey’s wines have also consistently picked up 90+ point ratings from publications including Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine & Spirits.
